Hi all,
Let's say, you have translated 50K words for a client, but the word count "with repetitions" goes up to 100K.
When you want to add it to your project history to assure your future clients, which figure would you cite in your Project history?
Cheers,

Does it matter?

50k is neither more nor less impressive than 100k. Once you reach a certain point (maybe 20-30k), any further word count is merely academic from a resume perspective.

Both make sense

The "correct" word count to be cited in the project history, as I see it, should be 100k as it is the original figure before CAT tool calculation and reflects the actual size of work you've done. You won't be considered as a "bragger" by the client just because you added those repetitions. So, no worries.

The fact that the client (or you) took steps to reduce the time it takes to do the job (e.g. by using a system that reduces the time spent on repetitions) does not change the fact that it was a large job. You don't have to feel dishonest to report it as 100k.
