Bio
I am currently working as a freelance jurist linguist. I do translations and transcriptions in the Portuguese, English and Spanish Languages as well as linguistic reviews of documents. Although I am able to translate and review any sort of documents, my expertise area is Law.
Recently I have done several translations and editings of legal documents for international law firms, for national and international translation companies and for Portuguese companies. The translation works that I have been doing are in the legal area, mainly regarding financial law, funds, companies law, contracts, civil law, litigation and arbitration.
Besides having studied at St. Julian’s School and being admitted at the FCI at British Council I have worked for the last four years as a Lawyer in an English Law Firm, in which I was part of the finance and capital markets department, leaded by an English partner. As almost all my work was in direct contact with English clients, I am very comfortable with the English Language, both oral and writing. Moreover I have done a lot of translations of legal documents (such as, contracts, legislation, articles of association, legal articles, etc.) when working as a trainee lawyer and as a lawyer given that most of my work had to be made in English and Portuguese Languages at the same time.
Given that I am a Lawyer registered at the Portuguese Bar Association, pursuant to Portuguese Law, I am able to certify translations without any restrictions.
