Portuguese term or phrase: à sua maneira e fiéis aos seus estilos
Hi everyone! I'm translating the following academic abstract and am struggling with this phrase as my translation repeats 'in a ways': "In their own ways and true to their own styles, both authors wrote about immigrants and immigration in a way which was influenced by their own biographies". Any help appreciated! Thanks!

neutral  Richard Purdom: teacher here, spelling mistake and way/style should be in plural unless they shared it/them!

-> Yes it does sound a bit like Simon and Garfunkel

agree  Muriel Vasconcellos: With slight changes: both authors, each in their own way and true to their style. BTW, I looked up that use of plural the other day and it's perfectly OK.

Explanation:
Your rendering of this expression seems perfect to me. It could be easier to change the other instance of the repeated word? Instead of "both authors wrote (...) in a way which was influenced...", you could have "both authors wrote (...) in a manner which...".
