desculpem insistir, mas aparentemente a particularidade da banda marcial é que a flauta é de metal e é tocada em posição horizontal, com o músico se movimentando. por outro lado, o músico , cliente, insiste em chamar o instrumento que ele toca de flauta doce. e agora? está em histórico escolar, o músico ganhou prêmio.

Explicação:
Flauta doce is the term used for any recorder (como voce disse, uma flauta tocada na posicao vertical). I play an instrument, the tin whistle (also called penny whistle) which translates as flauta doce.

Here's another idea: maybe you want the word Fife--a transverse flute without keys. A fife is played like a flute (horizontally). Perhaps you want piccolo... give me more of the context please!
