The terminology - in my UK Bar Finals 'day' - was sentencing tariff that seems to have been superseded by the American- & Canadian-influenced guideline system: www.thelawpages.com/court-cases/maximums.php 'A life sentence average tariff is 14years equvalent to a 28yr sentence.'
