Portuguese term or phrase: os atos
I'm editing a text and it doesn't seem quite right here. The source reads as follows:
Parágrafo único. Os atos, não ratificados no prazo, serão havidos por inexistentes, respondendo o advogado por despesas e perdas e danos.

Sole paragraph. If not timely ratified acts shall be deemed inexistent, and the attorney shall bear the ensuing costs and damages.

I don't know if a comma should be added after "if not", in the English version, but something doesn't seem right. Any suggestions here?
