português termo ou frase:Apólice participada
This appears in relation to a claims made insurance policy. I'm not sure what the "participada" part means. Could it be a joint or group policy, perhaps?
this is one example of how it appears:
"“[...] baseado em, atribuível a ou como uma consequência de qualquer reclamação ou circunstância existente anterior ao Período de Vigência do Seguro que tenha sido PARTICIPADA ao abrigo de qualquer seguro de responsabilidade de administradores ou outros dirigentes, responsabilidade por práticas laborais ou apólice de responsabilidade geral da qual esta Apólice é uma renovação ou substituição ou à qual sucedeu temporalmente;”
The term "Período de participação" also appears, which I assume refers to the term of the policy, but I'm not 100% sure. In any case, it is a separate term, so I will post a separate question. I just thought it might help herre.
Thanks in advance :)
I think this one best fits the context of the sample sentence I gave (which, in hindsight, was not the best example in terms of the phrase "apolice participada", which, I have decided, means "claims made policy". Thanks :) 4 pontos KudoZ serão concedidos para esta resposta
I am not entirely sure it refers to an actual complaint filed or to a specific circumstance or complaint made against whatever party is insured prior to the effective term of coverage of the insurance in question and that may be relevant to it ... participar is often used in Portuguese for inform or communicate
Further to my previous discussion entry, does anyone think that perhaps "participada" might merely be a translation of "claims made"? Based on the suggestions below, where "participada" refers to a claim made/presented/reported, etc., this seems reasonable, I think. Also, I should have mentioned in my original explanation that the document is actually a claims made policy, so we have to assume that no claims have been made as of yet. Any ideas? Thanks again in advance :)
I understand it is an insurance police under which claims have been made.
Participa here menas:
verbo transitivo1. fazer saber; informar; comunicar
2. anunciar
3. dar parte de
Ah, right, so it means a policy for which a claim has been made? this makes sense, as there is another part of the document that says "Esta é um apólice participada e claims made". IN other words, do you think that "apólice participada" is the term used in the document for "claims made"; providing a Portuguese version rather than using the English term?

Or, indeed, as noted by Maria José, 'presented'.

The updates to the menu were made to make the site easy and more intuitive for visitors. Obviously, like any change, this may take a few days to get used to.
The dropdown menus have been divided into two-dimensional panels with similar items grouped together under headings. This eliminates scrolling for those with smaller screens, and also improves readability.
Mouseover your name at the top of the screen. Here you will find information about your account, your email settings, and more. The "My ProZ.com" menu was moved up here to simplify the main navigation, and to keep all of this type of information together.
