Portuguese term or phrase: o salário fixo do colaborador, então não haveria dano
I'm not sure if I've understood this correctly, any ideas? Thank you!

Two of these cases related to employees who had applied for the vacancy of Manager I of XXX however the fixed salary in their current post was higher than the desired position. As per the presentation made in April 2010 by the HR Business Partner, the proposal was that if the fixed salary plus the vacancy in question’s variable salary were higher than the employee’s fixed salary, employees would not be disadvantaged. Subsequently, the employee’s fixed salary could be reduced.

Thanks Loreta and also for putting the whole sentence together. I'm not convinced by the use of the word damage in this context - maybe financial disadvantage?
