Placement / Staggered Pay Increase Explanation: placement = enquadramento Corporations place employees in a particular Grade and Step into which a pay schedule or pay table is divided. “Enquadramento parcelado” is not a usual expression used by Brazilian companies for framing of an employee into its career and salary plan, rather by very few trade unions. The usual HR for this is “aumento parcelado” (staggered pay increase). For instance, trade unions on one side bargain for a straight 10% increase. Employers (or business sector representatives) on the other side counter-offer with a 10% increase over a three-year period. The latter is what’s called “Enquadramento parcelado” = “aumento parcelado” = “staggered pay increase”. It’s possibly a rare occurrence in the UK and the US.
