I was against your answer because I have a sense that 'bestowed' is used in the following ways: 1) for positive connotations 2) for things that can be given 3) the thing given should be positive like an award, an honor, or a right 4) sometimes the giver is God.
A quick look at collocations on the Corpus of Contemporary American English confirms my intuition. The most common words appearing in the vicinity of 'bestowed' are words like honor, gift, award, etc. It does not seem to be used in written or spoken English to mean something like 'includes'.
