From http://ticri.inpl-nancy.fr/urban_soils.en/index.php/Leptic_(... Endoleptic (nl): having continuous rock starting between 50 and 100 cm from the soil surface. Epileptic (el): having continuous rock starting within 50 cm of the soil surface. Presumably "leptic" includes both of the above. It is found in many other documents as an established classification for describing a soil analysis. |
