Yes, I know "contribuinte" is the translation for taxpayer, not "declarante" but I just don't see declarant used that often here in the U.S. Perhaps in Europe ?

Concordo com vc, Gilmar, de que nos Estados Unidos não se usa "declarant", porque não se usa o verbo "to declare" para dizer que alguém "declara" [declares] ou vai preparar uma "declaração" [declaration] do imposto de renda, não é? Então acho que vou aceitar sua sugestão, Gilmar, que era tb o meu palpite, e deixar declarante como taxpayer mesmo. Obrigada.
