French to English translations [PRO]
Law: Contract(s)
French term or phrase: marché à bon de commande
In an invitation to tender, one of the clause headings is "Forme et durée (marchés à bons de commande)". The clause reads as follows: Le présent marché à bons de commande est passé en appel d'offres, articles 33, 57 à 59, 77 du code des marché publics". Presumably this is "in accordance with sections .....". If this helps explain the context, the procedure is for the installation of baggage screening equipment at an airport. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give me :-)

by order deal / arrangement

Explanation:
Even if the deal is signed (probably setting prices), actual sales will be subject to actual orders without any volume commitment.

explanation

Explanation:
order contract / contract by order

it means that whoever gets the contract will receive orders (order forms = bon de commande) from the client most likely because the services or supplies to be provided will be provided according to a schedule over a period of time.

eg: first order December 2007
2nd order February 2007
etc.

Normally 'BDCs' are purchase orders! that's what I call them for my translations. PO's in English. I also raise PO's for public service works. Even though a contract is in place, PO's are raised against specific works. In the French links, it is guaranteeing providing a certain level of work.

ps: I think that it is better to specify 'purchase' in it rather than simply 'order' as an 'order' could be the instructions for the work rather than what is a financial committment and reference number for works.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Julie, thanks very much for your response. I ended up using "purchase order contract" as I am dealing with public contracts, so your suggestion was very helpful.
