Sobre mim
I am an experienced free-lance translator serving the consulting and finance sectors.
I graduated from New College, Oxford with a 1st class degree in French and German, receiving particularly high marks (average of 77) in my translation papers.
I spent a year studying in Berlin as part of my degree course. I also gained business experience in German working as a Summer intern for Reed Messe Salzburg (part of Reed Exhibition Companies) in Austria. This included translating webpages and business reports into English.
After graduation I worked for 2 years in Paris for Estin & Co, a strategy consulting firm. This involved multi-lingual gymnastics, as research was generally conducted in French and German (speaking to local market experts, asking trade associations for data) while reports were mostly written in French and English. Markets covered include asset management, hotels, private health care, wood flooring, steel chimneys and swimming pool equipment. In addition, I regularly translated work proposals and Powerpoint presentations from French into English.
I recently gave up my career at Estin & Co to set myself up full-time as a free-lance translator. So far I have worked mostly for consultancies, translating work proposals, market reports and client presentations from French into English. I have also had work from investment funds and market research organisations.
