I am a full-time freelance translator, based in Johannesburg, South Africa, working from Afrikaans, German and French into English. I have a BA (Languages) from Rand Afrikaans University (now University of Johannesburg) and a Masters' degree in Translation from the University of the Witwatersrand.
For a time I worked at the language office at the head office of the South African Police Service and for many years was employed in the exports industry, dealing with road, air and sea transport into Africa and the Indian Ocean islands. I have also lived in the UK.
I am accredited by the South African Translators' Institute (SATI) for Afrikaans-English translation and English editing and am a South African sworn translator for Afrikaans into English.
My experience in translating and editing extends to a wide variety of texts, including study guides, financial statements, annual reports, academic theses, research papers and pharmaceutical content.
