Este documento tiene por objeto describir el modo de inserción de nuevos equipos en una red LMDS de la banda de 26 GHz (MINI-LINK BAS).
3. INSERCION DE UN NUEVO EQUIPO LMDS EN LA RED
Distinguiremos dos escenarios:
- Inserción de un AT
- Inserción de un Hub o de un Emulador de Circuitos
3.1 Inserción de un AT
Los pasos a seguir son los siguientes:
1. Pulsar 'MLBAS' dentro del menú principal
2. Seleccionar el radio nodo del cual va a colgar el AT
3. Elegir la opción 'Create' dentro de 'Access Terminal' de la barra
de herramientas
4. Se abre una ventana en la cual hay que introducir el nombre del
AT y su emplazamiento.
5. En la parte inferior de la ventana ‘MLBAS Management’
aparecerá el nuevo AT. Hay que seleccionarlo y elegir 'Modify'
dentro de 'Access Terminal'.
6. Aparece una ventana en la cual hay que seleccionar 'Sign On'
para que la antena enganche con la radio.
7. Se procederá a hacer una actualización de software en el AT,
proceso que durará 30 minutos aproximadamente. Cuando esto
termine, hay que verificar dentro de 'MLBAS Management' que el
status del AT es 'Signed On' y su estado operacional es 'Enable'

The aim of this document is to explain how to install new components on an 26 GHz LMDS network (MINI-LINK BAS).
3. INSTALLING A NEW LMDS COMPONENT ON THE NETWORK
There are two possible scenarios:
- Installing an AT (Access Terminal)
- Installing a Hub or a Circuit Simulator
3.1 Installing an AT
Follow these steps:
1. Click on MLBAS in the main menu
2. Choose the radio node to which the AT will be connected
3. Click on ‘Access Terminal > Create’ in the toolbar
4. Type the name and location of the AT into the window that
appears.
5. The new AT will appear in the lower part of the ‘MLBAS
Management’ window. Highlight it and click on ‘Access Terminal >
Modify’.
6. Choose ‘Sign on’ in the window that appears so that the
antenna connects to the radio.
7. The AT software will then update. This will take approximately 30
minutes. Once finished, check in ‘MLBAS Management’ that the
AT status is ‘Signed on’ and its operational state is ‘Enable’.

La selección del sexo
Las técnicas de selección del sexo en la especie humana pueden realizarse a nivel de gametos o a nivel de embriones, cuyas perspectivas éticas y legales son diferentes.
En términos legales, en España están vigentes dos normas jurídicas: una nacional - la Ley 35/1988, de 22 de noviembre, sobre Técnicas de Reproducción Asistida - y otra supranacional, el Convenio sobre los Derechos Humanos y la Biomedicina (conocido como Convenio Europeo de Bioética) de abril de 1997, cuyos textos ad hoc se indican a continuación:
El Artículo 12.1 de la Ley 35/1988, dice que:
“Toda intervención sobre el preembrión, vivo, in vitro, con fines diagnósticos, no podrá tener otra finalidad que la valoración de su viabilidad o no, o la detección de enfermedades hereditarias, a fin de tratarlas, si ello es posible, o de desaconsejar su transferencia para procrear.”
Más adelante, cuando trata de las infracciones y sanciones, dice en el Artículo 20.2 A) n) que son infracciones graves:
“La selección del sexo o la manipulación genética con fines no terapéuticos o terapéuticos no autorizados.”
De la lectura del texto de la Ley 35/1988 parece inferirse que, salvo razones de enfermedades ligadas al sexo, está prohibida la selección del sexo y aunque, a la vista del Artículo 12.1, podría pensarse que se refiere exclusivamente a la utilización del diagnóstico preimplantacional de embriones; sin embargo, la redacción del apartado n) del Artículo 20.2 A) que menciona de forma genérica la “selección del sexo” como una infracción grave podría interpretarse que se refiere no sólo a la selección de embriones en razón de su sexo en un programa de FIV, sino también a la selección de espermatozoides previa a la inseminación artificial.

Sex selection
Sex selection techniques in human beings can be carried out at either gamete or embryo level, each of which raise different legal and ethical questions.
In legal terms, there are two pieces of legislation in force in Spain: one national – Act 35/1988 (of 22 November) regarding assisted reproduction techniques – and one supranational - the Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine (also known as the European Convention on Bioethics) which was established in April 1997. The ad hoc texts of these two pieces of legislation are shown below:
Article 12.1 of Act 35/1988, states that:
“No intervention for diagnostic purposes on the live pre-embryo in vitro shall be permitted, unless its object is to determine the viability of the pre-embryo or to detect hereditary disorders therein, in order to treat them, where possible, or to advise against the transfer of the pre-embryo for reproduction if treatment is not possible.”
Further on, when referring to violations and sanctions, paragraph n) of Article 20.2 A) states that serious violations of the Act include:
“Sex selection or genetic manipulation for non-therapeutic or unauthorised therapeutic purposes.”
The text in Act 35/1988 would seem to suggest that sex selection is prohibited, except for reasons relating to sex-linked disorders, and in light of Article 12.1 it could be thought that this ban applies exclusively to the use of preimplantation embryo diagnosis. The wording in paragraph n) of Article 20.2 A), however, which refers generically to “sex selection” as a serious violation of the Act, could be interpreted as referring not only to the sex-based selection of embryos in an IVF programme, but also to the selection of sperm prior to artificial insemination.
