Sobre mim

After graduating from Glasgow University in 1983 with a Master of Arts degree, I worked in the tourist trade in France and Italy before finally settling in Portugal. I now have over 20 years experience in the travel and tourism trade.

I am the translator for the bilingual monthly regional newspaper "Internacional" (Algarve, Portugal).

I took the IOL's Diploma in Translation exam (Portuguese to English) in January 2005, obtaining "merit" for the general paper and the law option, and "distinction" for the technology option.

As a practising athlete (track, cross-country and road-running) and with cookery as my favourite creative hobby, I offer added insight into translation in these fields.
